Christopher Steenson

b. 1992, Northern Ireland. Based in Armagh.

Christopher Steenson works across sound, text, lens-based media and digital systems to interrogate the politics of time, environment and more-than-human relations. Through these concerns, he seeks to make work through which we can listen to the future.

Recent projects

Solo exhibitions include They haven’t gone away you know, mother’s tankstation, Dublin, 2025 an Breath Variations, Flat Time House, London, 2023. Steenson’s work is held in the Arts Council of Ireland Collection. From 2022–23, he participated in the Freelands Foundation Artist Programme. In 2023, he was artist-in-residence at Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, Omaha, USA.
