Hazel O’Sullivan

b. 1998, Co. Meath, Ireland

Hazel O’Sullivan is a multidisciplinary artist working in sculpture and painting, examining discourse around cultural identity from an Irish perspective. She approaches ancient and future narratives with retrofuturism as an aesthetic tool, confronting the weight of colonialism and neoliberalism on defining contemporary Irish identity.

Exhibitions include: RETROFUTURE, The LAB Gallery, Dublin (2024); Otherscapes, Acrylicize, London (2024); Cladding, Platform Arts, Belfast (2023); Harvest Gold, Solstice Arts Centre, Ireland (2023). Recent awards and artist residencies include: Acrylicize x WCCD 9-week residency, London, (2024); Hypha Studios 3-month residency, London, (2023); Solstice Visual Arts Award, Ireland (2023).
