Q: I saw your eligibility criteria says applicants should identify as an 'emerging' or 'early career' artist, who has not had access to similar opportunities - please can you define these?
A: Everyone's artistic journey is different, but this opportunity is intended for emerging or early career artists that may have never participated in a long-term studio award; had a solo exhibition at a publicly funded gallery; be currently represented by a commercial gallery; or we have not supported before through our exhibition programme.
Q: How will the recipient artist be selected?
A: The selection will be made by representatives from both New Contemporaries and Forma and will be based on the following criteria:
- The creative ambition of your work and ideas
- Your need for the opportunity
Q: How many artists will be awarded a studio?
A: There is one studio residency available at FormaHQ at this moment, but we will be launching other opportunities in the future.
