The New Contemporaries 1996 exhibition took place at Tate Gallery Liverpool from 13 April until 27 May 1996.

The panel of guest selectors comprising Maria de Corral, Mark Wallinger and Richard Shone has chosen 33 artists for the annual open submission exhibition.
