Natalie Mitchell
Natalie Mitchell is an artist based in London working across moving image, sound, photography and writing. Their practice explores how histories live within bodies and landscapes, often through walking, field recording and the gathering of fragments. Recent moving image works such as this one goes out to The Dance (2024) and She climbed the Heath (2023) explore collective memory, intimacy and the traces that places hold. Alongside their studio practice, Natalie develops participatory projects with communities and young people that centre collective reflection, care and storytelling.
Natalie’s work has been exhibited at Turf Projects and Fillet in London, and more recently at Aldershot Contemporary, New Art Exchange and Assembly House Trust. They were part of CONDITIONS Studio Programme in London (2022-24) and a member of the Southbank Centre’s Artist Advisory Collective. Their work has been screened at venues including Goldsmiths University, David Lean Cinema and Millennium Film Workshop, New York.
