Tools to Heal: Sound & Identity Workshop
with Zethu Maseko

20 August 2020 -

6.00-7.30pm, New Contemporaries Zoom Meeting Room

During this session, participants are invited to explore identity through sound. Hosted by BNC2020 artist Zethu Maseko we’ll use sound and its ability to transport us into a state of empathy, using it as a tool to better understand those from whom we are descended. This in turn helps us understand ourselves and where we are going. As manifestations on our ancestors, can we reclaim their tools to heal and self-reflect in a contemporary context?

Participants are asked to bring an audio clip of a sound that relates to their ancestry.

The session will be held on Zoom and is open to 12 participants on a first come first served basis. Please email info@newcontemporaries.org.uk if you would like to attend.
