Tools to Heal: Sound & Identity Workshop
with Zethu Maseko
6.00-7.30pm, New Contemporaries Zoom Meeting Room
During this session, participants are invited to explore identity through sound. Hosted by BNC2020 artist Zethu Maseko we’ll use sound and its ability to transport us into a state of empathy, using it as a tool to better understand those from whom we are descended. This in turn helps us understand ourselves and where we are going. As manifestations on our ancestors, can we reclaim their tools to heal and self-reflect in a contemporary context?
Participants are asked to bring an audio clip of a sound that relates to their ancestry.
The session will be held on Zoom and is open to 12 participants on a first come first served basis. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to attend.
This project is part of the Bridget Riley Artists’ Professional Development Programme.
