Selectors' Comments:
The style of them seems quite generic at first, but over time they reveal a compelling balance between very impulsive decisions and a refined kind of painterly tidying up. There's also something going on about terror and loss, something absent and unresolved that gets you back to look at them.

Artist's Statement:
Both paintings 'Brains' and 'Redeemer', are intuitive gestural images. Both paintings slip between a figurative and abstracted image. Resolution in my work is achieved through the act of invention in painting, this invention creating a logic unique to painting.
