New Contemporaries Digital Residency Opportunity for Alumni

DATE

31 March 2020

We are constantly looking to find new ways to support emerging practice. As a way to develop and extend our programme of existing IRL residencies, and mindful of the current situation faced by artists as a result of COVID-19, we are piloting two new funded digital residencies, hosted between 11 May – 5 June and 15 June – 10 July 2020.

Providing space, curatorial and financial support to make work, we invite artists to explore ideas, develop their research and create new works to share with new audiences through our online platforms. Artists are invited to propose a project, highlighting how the residency will benefit their practice.

To be considered please read the information below.

Residency information:

  • Dates: 11 May – 5 June and 15 June – 10 July 2020. Please indicate which period/s would be your preference.
  • £1,000 research and development bursary.
  • Work can potentially be shared, embedded or disseminated for public engagement using:
  • A designated residency page on the New Contemporaries website, which can host text and images, and embed AV files (moving image and audio must be hosted on YouTube and SoundCloud)
  • New Contemporaries social media channels (Instagram, Twitter and Facebook)
  • New Contemporaries YouTube and Vimeo and SoundCloud channels
  • You may also consider hosting or recording a virtual event for a live audience
