New Contemporaries continues to be the leading and longest-running open submission, touring exhibition, which showcases some of the most dynamic and engaging work emerging from UK art schools. Since 1949, we have provided a professional platform, beyond the context of art school, for new artists’ work to become visible and to be discussed often for the first time.

Designed to offer an invaluable platform to a new generation of talent, New Contemporaries is an established favourite in the art calendar, renowned for its fresh selection of artists and ambitious exhibitions year-on-year. In addition to the platform that the annual exhibition provides, we have expanded our professional development support for artists through one-to-one mentoring, workshops, studio bursaries and other opportunities.

Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2016 will launch at Bluecoat as part of Liverpool Biennial before travelling to London.

We are pleased to announce that the selectors for 2016 are Anya Gallaccio, Alan Kane and Haroon Mirza.

Sponsored by Bloomberg, New Contemporaries is a National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) and Registered Charity.
