Instructions
Step 1. What you will need
You will need Macromedia's Flash Player for your browser. Below you will see either confirmation that you have the Flash Player installed or a link to enable you to get the Flash Player.
Once you have/installed the Flash Player select 'make a short film' from the navigation. It may take a few minutes to download the make a short film page. This download time is dependent on your connection speed.
Step 2. Selecting and positioning your images and sounds
To chose an image or sound to add to your film click on the grey tabs beside either the sound list or the bank of image thumbnails.
- - You can preview the sounds and images before you select where (position) to place them in your composition and how long (duration) they will play.
- - Your film is limited to 60 seconds. Each second is represented by one position on the timeline.
- - Sounds and images can have a minimum duration of 1 second and a maximum duration of 1 minute.
- - You can remove images and sounds from your film by clicking on them in the timeline and selecting remove.
Step 3. Previewing your film
To see your film in progress click on the preview button on the top right of the timeline.
Step 4. Saving and titling your film *
To save your film click on the save button below and to the right-hand side of the timeline. You will be taken to a screen where you will be able to title your film as well as identify yourself as its author. This is optional, you can publish your film anonymously, without a title. This may take a few minutes. Once your film is saved you will be able to return to the site to view it by selecting it from the list of published films.
