The level of detail and obsession in these fine drawings is fascinating. Going from a labour intensive operation, the artist transforms all to suggest the crafted model, a strange marquetry object. They promise something fine, grand and smart, turning a bunch of flowers into a surface more akin to wood grain, or inventing follies of three dimensions, suspended in the paper’s surface.
Selectors comments; JJ Charlesworth, Cerith Wyn Evans, Hayley Newman and Rebecca Warren.
