New Contemporaries Archive
Welcome to New Contemporaries Archive - a digital record of all the annual shows from 1989 to the present year. Every selected artist and their work are represented with fully catalogued data assembled from original records.

Developed by A Database with support from A Foundation and Arts Council England, A Database is a unique online archive system designed to record and digitise records of contemporary art to museum-quality standards. Built using open source technology it is secure, unrestricted and free. A Database aims to foster new relationships between artists and public; to provide uncomplicated access to art images and records, and to promote a wider enjoyment of art in the digital age.

New Contemporaries was the test-case for the launch of A Database and we are sure this groundbreaking system will be of benefit to other independent agencies in the visual arts sector as a whole. As a resource in itself, we hope this archive proves to be as fascinating to the casual browser as to the serious student or researcher.

We welcome your feedback on the system and archive content. To let us know what you think please email us at: info@adatabase.org
